Dear MLC Community:

The MLC event committee has been very busy starting to plan this year's annual conference and is ready to announce some information. Please mark your calendars for our second annual conference August 8-10, 2012 in Traverse City, Michigan at Northwestern Michigan College's Hagerty Center (same location as 2011's conference). This year's theme is Establishing A Winning Culture. It promises to be an insightful conference with nationally recognized speakers and plenty of time for networking. This conference will provide strategies and tools to make Michigan the best place in the country to live, learn and earn!

The high level agenda is as follows:

Wednesday August 8:

12pm-5pm Lunch and Conference

6pm-8:30pm Reception and Dinner

Thursday August 9:

8am-3pm Breakfast, Lunch, Conference and Adjourn

Friday August 10:

8:30am-12 Optional Training for those wishing to stay for small group training

We will have 2 keynote speakers, several break-out sessions divided by levels of lean experience, a dinner speaker, organized (optional) evening activities, family activities and special MLC discounted hotels.

In the next couple of months we will explain our sponsor model and will begin taking applications for break-out session leads. If you have any thoughts on how to make this year's conference outstanding, please email me directly. Keep in mind our theme this year is 'Establishing a Winning Culture'.

The planning committee consists of Jessica Morales, Howard Weston, Betsy Williams and me. If you would like to be on the planning committee or would like to be a volunteer for the event (which includes hard work rewarded by complimentary admission to the conference) please let me know. We have a limited number of volunteer opportunities to fill specific roles.

Look for regular updates on the conference via email, linked in, Facebook and our website www.michiganlean.org. Registration is targeted to open on April 1. Register early to ensure a seat! As soon as the cost for the conference is finalized we will be sure to let you know.

We are looking forward to another excellent conference in Traverse City and hope to see you there!

Best Wishes,
