MLC hosted Russ Scaffede, former Chairman of the Shingo Prize Board of Governors, on Nov. 10 in Grand Rapids:
The Michigan Lean Consortium (MLC), along with the Oakland University Pawley Lean Institute and Grand Rapids Community College, recently hosted a lean leadership event at Grand Rapids Community College. Russ Scaffede, one of America's most knowledgeable and successful leaders of lean manufacturing operations, was the speaker for this event.
"The Michigan Lean Consortium again allowed for a great morning. I was very appreciative to be a speaker and the most positive t of the morning was the interaction of the panelists with the audience questions. With the continued work of the MLC I am positive the state will all benefit from the events, training and ticipation of some of Michigan's most experienced and innovative lean practitioners," said speaker Russ Scaffede.
The Grand Rapids event had 62 attendees and 10 new members.
"The event at Grand Rapids Community College was about why lean is important to the turnaround of MI and ideas to help do that. It was clear from Mr. Scaffede's information that Michigan's role in lean was strong in the early 1900s and needs to get stronger in today's world. I was extremely pleased with the turnout and the excitement shown by the west side of Michigan in the MLC's efforts," said Debra Levantrosser Setman, 2010 Chair of the MLC.
