Lean Green Belt Certificate Program Offered at the Macomb-OU INCubator
The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator is offering the Lean Green Belt Certificate Program May 1-June 28, 2012, as part of the OU Lean Diversification Program. This program aims to educate business professionals on the aspects of Lean principles that can be applied to their business internally in order to make their organization ready for diversification. More specifically, a continuous improvement mindset will be introduced, including streamlining processes, maximizing success, developing employees, impacting financial measures, and improving customer satisfaction and value. Grant-subsidized spots are available for the full tuition amount of $600 for qualified companies, including those in defense, homeland security and advanced manufacturing-related industries who are seeking diversification options. Included are six classroom and online days, plus a half-day benchmark, for a total of 44 training hours. Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, March 19-23
This new program integrates the two leading continuous improvement strategies, Lean and Six Sigma. You will learn how to apply the DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) problem-solving methodology with a Lean-Six Sigma mindset for maximum results. It will improve your capability to effectively identify, frame, and solve problems for the continuous improvement of quality, cost, and delivery/time. Lean Healthcare Certification, April 16-20
Lean yields big dividends when implemented throughout the entire healthcare management and delivery process. Participants learn how to apply lean concepts and tools of the legendary Toyota Production System (TPS) to healthcare enterprises including hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes, clinics, laboratories, and administrative and other health services. Lean Manufacturing Certification, April 16-20 and May 14-18
Lean manufacturing is based on the Toyota Production System (TPS), a lean manufacturing philosophy and set of methods for dramatically reducing time from customer order to delivery of a higher-quality product, with less cost, space, and inventory. This lean program will teach you how to use these tools and techniques to ultimately benefit your organization and your customer by providing what they want when they want it. Toyota Kata: Building Competitive Advantage with Lean, April 24 and April 25-26
This new leadership course presents the next level of thinking in lean management. It will show you how having everyone throughout the company practice behavior patterns called kata can generate and support a culture of continuous improvement. It teaches everyone how to work through unpredictable obstacles and achieve new levels of performance and results, again and again, across the entire company. Attend only the introductory one-day seminar to develop awareness or attend the one-day seminar plus a two-day hands-on in-plant workshop which allows you to practice what you have learned. Lean Product Development Certification, May 7-11
Based on more than 25 years of research, this program provides an overview of the Toyota Product Development System. It will give you an in-depth understanding of how TPDS works and its principles, tools, and benefits. You will learn how to successfully integrate people, products, and technology. Students participate in traditional versus lean hands-on product development simulations and learn for themselves the positive impact a lean approach can have.
