You'll learn:

  • Safety and Lean at the horse farm & why it is crucial
  • 8 Wastes/3 Value Questions, how we apply them and what the results have been
  • Lean model of training, very prescriptively specific, then a little more latitude, then a lot of freedom to explore (we call it "drive in the tracks" at the farm)
  • CI's and their impact over time, both financial and quality of life for the horses, both capital projects and process changes
  • Visual management and 5S-ing (ties into CI's)
  • SOPs in the real world
  • Start where you are and do what you can, attendees will see some of our gaps
  • We will also touch on Leadership lessons from the horses and tie that into Lean Leadership
  • Error proofing

Light refreshments will be served. Coffee (Keurig) and tea are available as well as bottled water.

Wear shoes good for walking in potentially slightly muddy conditions, and jeans or other clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Dress for the weather since weather permitting we will be doing a walking tour of key areas of the farm relevant to the topic and to the attendees' interests.

Allergies to hay, mold, horses or cats should take appropriate precautions.
